Natural Gas

Do you ever wonder how the food that we eat gets cooked? There are various ways using which we can cook our food but generally food is cooked over a stove that uses natural gas to produce the heat. What is this natural gas and where does it come from? Well, just as the name sounds the gas is obtained naturally and is a form of fossil fuel but in gaseous form. The gas primarily consists of methane with small quantities of propane, butane, helium, nitrogen, carbon dioxide, ethane and hydrogen sulphide. Natural gas is obtained from under the earth's surface in oil fields, coal beds and natural gas fields. The gas that is obtained from these places is highly processed to remove all other gases and materials other than methane. The final output that is obtained after extensive processing is the gas that we use for variety of purposes, one being cooking. Another application of natural gas where it is extensively used is for power generation. It is a major source of power generation wherein it is used to generate electricity through steam turbines and gas turbines.

Electricity

Electricity is by far the most important energy source. It has been a major breakthrough for many of our inventions. It can be said that our lives are dependent on electricity today. In every walk of life electricity plays an important role. Its major use is in the nights when there is darkness all over. Even in the day time electricity is more than essential to operate many of our machines and tools. Today we can hardly think of surviving without electricity.
